D-Node 239: Diego | Kanzleramt + Belief System

Swiss DJ/producer Diego Hostettler is our next embedded veteran techno figure from the Belief System camp, though the bulk of his work as Diego, including 7 albums, has been on Heiko Laux's Kanzleramt imprint. Diego's sound has been refined over the years and has incorporated a range of influences and approaches to rhythm, noise, and synthetic melody, but at its core has been a hard, driving focus in the vein of Mills, Hood, or Sims. His mix for D-Node showcases the evolution of that appr...

D-Node 237: Thomas Hessler | Graphene

This week we're pleased to share a set from German artist Thomas Hessler, who has released tracks these past few years on Graphene, Nowhere, and CLFT. His sound is a contemporary mixture of hard techno and deep electronics, fitting perfectly on the D-Node podcast. D-Node 235: Reggy van Oers | Affin

Dutch artist Reggy van Oers presents a deep minimal sound that's dark and ritualistic. After van Oers' 2007 release of "Metza" on Trapez, he went on to produce for a handful of labels but has given the bulk of his creative output to Joachim Spieth's Affin imprint. His trademark has become a dive into trance-inducing darkness, which can be heard on his releases, his many remixes, and his track selection in general. This week's mix traverses those depths. D-Node 234: Arthur Oskan Live PA | Thoughtless Music

We normally break down artist bios to a few core sentences for these introductions, but Oskan's bio is actually a pretty interesting read and not reproduced in too many places, so here it is: Hailing from Toronto, Arthur Oskan has spent the last twenty years solidifying his place as one of Canada’s top electronic music producers. A Juno Award nomination (an award given to Canada’s top musicians) for his album ‘A Little More Than Everything’ (2011) on Thoughtless Music was not som...

D-Node 233: The Advent | Kombination Research

The Advent is a legendary name in techno's history, and Cisco Ferreira is the man behind the name. A sound engineer for bands in the mid-'80s, toward the end of the decade he got into London's underground scene and worked on the records of Midwestern techno and house pioneers through the UK label Jack Trax. By 1988 he had his first record out as The Project on a very young R&S Records. A few years later and many records past, he was releasing as The Advent with Colin McBean, and perhaps more...
